I've told our crew that in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show, Joss Whedon doesn't rush to close off loose ends. The average length of time in the show between introducing a plot complication and resolving it is four episodes. (That's my perception, not an official statistic.)

Taking this same approach in the game gives us the opportunity to build suspense and gives me more material to work with for future episodes. As a result, I award Experience Points for leaving loose ends -- such as, for example, by letting a bad guy get away so he can come back in a future episode.

Although Ghost's question was very odd, JD didn't ask why Ghost wanted to know if she was on good terms with any farmers. For leaving this loose end and increasing the suspense, JD got an Experience Point.
