Let it never be said that only the players screw up.

At the beginning of game session, I offered Mike a Drama Point if Desi could spend the whole episode trying to find dates to the prom, failing at every turn until the very end of the episode. (My players have substantial directorial privileges, so they can make up roles for Guest Stars and script their responses when it suits them. This way, Mike could specify not only that Desi would be turned down, but how and by whom.)

Mike came up with several scenes where Desi would have asked various eligible males to go to the prom, and each in turn would have refused her for some reason.

Did I let Mike play those scenes? Noooooo, of course not! I had never anticipated that Doug would ask JD to the prom in front of Kevin, and JD, stunned, would only nod. Of course Kevin interpreted the nod as a too-enthusiastic acceptance. He was hurt and angry, and he wanted revenge. What better revenge against JD than asking her best friend to the prom?

But I just couldn't wait until the end of the episode to spring that development on the Cast Members. So about three-quarters of the way through the episode, Kevin called Desi and asked her to the prom. Shame on me for my lack of discipline!

Of course, I gave Mike the Drama Point anyway.
