The Bringers -- also called Harbingers -- first appeared in Season 3 of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show. However, it's in Season 7 that they, and the First Evil whom they serve, got top billing. 

Bringers are humanoids who dress in brown robes. They have no eyes. Rather, where their eyes should be, they have flesh in which runic glyphs are carved:
