Steam Town, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is a national historic site dedicated to the era of steam locomotives. It's about an hour and a half drive from Allentown.

Desi's father is a professor of naval history, and every summer, he takes the family for a multi-day visit to Steam Town. (Steam Town isn't a naval exhibition, but it is historic, so they visit it every year.) It's a trip that Desi no longer looks forward to. After all, it's not as if Steam Town's history has changed since the last time they saw it.
