JD: We just came from Father Sullivan. We
have an unsettled spirit. We need to get Father Sullivan to perform an
exorcism.
Desi: Like in the movie?
JD: Yeah. Sorta. He told us we couldn't do
it ourselves. The problem is that the person or persons that we think are
affected by the unsettled spirit --
(Here Doug loudly clears his throat as a signal to JD that she shouldn't reveal they're cops.)
JD: -- we can't bring them to him, so we
wanted your help so we could....
Doug: Restrain the vessel.
JD: Yes. Then we'll call Father Sullivan and
he's going to come and make everything right.
Desi: "Restrain the vessel?"
Doug: It sounds better in Latin. But
basically, what we have to do is get the person or persons --
Desi: What do you mean, "person or
persons"?
Doug: Well, we think there's more than one.
Desi: So there's one unsettled spirit, and
many people who are being possessed?
Doug: I'd say four...ish.
JD: Yes, four. We think four.
Doug: Four's good.
JD: So we think four against two [meaning
herself and Doug] is not good
odds.
Doug: But four against you, we figure --
JD: -- Good odds.
Desi: You want me to kidnap four people?
Shouldn't you just tell the police who they are so they can arrest them?
Doug: You know, we thought of that! But
since the problem is possession, we can't prove that [to the police], and we
don't want people to go to prison for what they did while they were possessed,
because it's not their fault.
Desi: You're sure Father Sullivan is OK with
this?
Doug: Mostly, sure. Yeah.
