The secret's finally out. This is my explanation for why agents of the First
Evil never targeted Desi for assassination. (Well, not until Priscilla
specifically ratted Desi out. That's why the Bringers attacked the prom. But
shortly thereafter, Buffy delivered a crippling blow to the First's plans, and
the First Evil and its Bringers were pretty much out of the story after that.)
It was also because of the veil that Desi, as a potential Slayer, was never
summoned to Sunnydale. Nobody knew about her. Except, of course, for Philip
Glass.
