Dear Storm Knights:

Nearly thirty years ago, the University of Chicago sponsored an expedition into northern Ethiopia. The lead archeologist was Dr. Ira Schwartz. Dr. Schwartz returned with several artifacts from period of the 12th Egyptian Dynasty (1991-1782 BC), a time when Egypt ruled the land of Nubia, which comprised this region. One of the artifacts was a ceramic tile that Dr. Schwartz had received from a Ghenta tribesman named Mbetti. The Mbetti tile, as it came to be known, contained a fragment of an inscription that contained hieroglyphs that referred to — among other things — Pharaoh Amenemhet IV and an armory. Since the amount of information on the tile was quite small, it was soon forgotten.

Recently, one of the few surviving inscriptions from the reign of Amenemhet IV was "rediscovered" in the University of Milan, Italy. The translation of this inscription is attached.

There is speculation that the aforementioned inscription is a reference to the Possibility Wars. It is not my purpose to speculate here on the validity or nature of "prophecy." It’s enough to say that the Possibility Wars have profoundly changed the way we think of the workings of reality. For this reason, the Mbetti tile has taken on a new importance. The tile is clearly a fragment of a larger work. If the author of that work can reach across the millennia to grant us any assistance in fighting the High Lords, then that assistance will be gratefully accepted without question.

Your assignment is to find the larger inscription of which the Mbetti tile is a part. If the inscription leads you to anything that could help Core Earth defeat the High Lords in general, and Mobius in particular, return such items to the United States government so that they can be studied and used.

It is very important that you not show anything of archeological value to any member of the forces that serve Mobius. Even though you’ve been provided with all of the requisite documentation to grant you free passage through the Nile Empire as a sanctioned archeological team, experience has shown that Mobius will confiscate any historical treasure that you find. Such items are seldom seen again.

Also, it would be wise to avoid the native Watumi tribesmen. Since Mobius has invaded, they have become slavers.

Good luck.
