Independent Bookstore Day

Our favorite day of the year is coming: Independent Bookstore Day! This one-day national party is happening at indie bookstores across the country, this year on Saturday, April 27th and everyone is invited!

In addition to having exclusive books and literary items, An Unlikely Story will be hosting a series of fun activities and events for the whole family.  We will kick off the day with a special Paddington Bear Storytime at 10am with Paddington Bear himself! Following a story, children will be able to take pictures with Paddington and do a craft. Registration for this event will open Saturday, April 13th at 10am. Click here for details.

Then, at 4:30pm, middle-grade authors Padma Venkatraman and Ann Braden will talk about Padma's book, THE BRIDGE HOME and Ann's book THE BENEFITS OF BEING AN OCTOPUS, an NPR Best Book of 2018. Recommended for ages 8+. Register now for the free event.

Of course, no party is complete without presents to unwrap. Throughout the day, when customers purchase a book, they can choose a wrapped mystery book, while supplies last.
