Partnering with the North Attleboro YMCA, An Unlikely Story invites you to join the Discussion Group (formerly a book club) focused on healthy eating and living! The group gathers at the bookstore and the North Attleboro YMCA in alternating months. They explore books, cookbooks, food literature, cooking methods, videos, and lifestyle changes centered on real, whole foods and a clean-eating lifestyle.
This Discussion Group is open to all -- omnivores to vegans -- who want to talk about food, health and cooking. They request that everyone remain curious and respectful of each others’ choices. Members of the group will suggest a variety of resources each month to keep the discussions dynamic and broad-based. Food tastings and cooking demos will be sprinkled in as well! An Unlikely Story will offer a 10% discount on Discussion Group books in stock when bought during "Y Eat Healthy" meetings, although purchasing the books is not required for participation.
This month, our topic of discussion will be Grains -- grains or no grains, gluten or gluten-free? ... Those are the questions! Grains have been an essential part of worldwide fare for hundreds of years, yet they have been demonized over the past decade. Let's explore our experiences with grains, and support each other in our grain-full or grain-free living! Instead of focusing on one specific book, we've offered a list of possible books below to peruse before -- and after -- our meeting (and if you don't have time to look at the books, please join us anyway!)
