ABOUT THE BOOK:
For fans of Elin Hilderbrand and Nancy Thayer, Brenda Novak's newest standalone women's fiction trade follows three friends who reunite twenty years after a tragic incident changed the course of their lives, and discover the lengths to which they'll go to protect the ties that bind them.

Three friends--Ivy, Ariana and Cam--reunite in the touristy beach town where they grew up together, coming together at the local library at which Ivy works. Twenty years ago their town, mostly frequented by tourists in summer but with a small local population, was shattered when a young girl went missing and Cam was accused, as he was the last person to be seen with her. His two best friends, Ivy and Ariana, knew their friend could never have kidnapped or harmed anyone, so they believe him and stand up for him--go so far as to lie for him. Then, partially based on their testimony, he got off, and the girl who went missing was never found.

Now, twenty years later, someone else goes missing, and the circumstances lead Ivy and Ariana to wonder if they were wrong all along. But even though they have begun to suspect Cam might really have been the culprit, and that he's now committed the same crime again, they are both in a terrible situation. If he's innocent, their defection and admission could destroy his life. And if they're right, they're complicit in what happened this time, because they covered for him so many years ago.
